Dr. DeWayne Frazier
Dr. DeWayne Frazier is currently employed as Senior Vice President for International Programs at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. Dr. Frazier is responsible for overseeing UIU’s programs in foreign venues. Upper Iowa University currently has centers in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia. Before coming to UIU, Dr. Frazier served as the Dean of International Education and an assistant professor of international studies at Campbellsville University. Dr. Frazier earned his Bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville University in political science and mathematics. He completed his M.A. in international politics at the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce on the campus of the University of Kentucky and finished an additional M.A. at the University of Louisville in higher education administration. Dr. Frazier completed his Ph.D. in organizational administration at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Dana Born
Dana H. Born is currently Co-Director of the Center for Public Leadership (CPL), Faculty Chair, and Lecturer in Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Dr. Born is a retired Brigadier General with 30 years of service in the United States Air Force. Prior to coming to Harvard, from 2004-2013, she served two terms as the Presidentially appointed Dean of the Faculty at the United States Air Force Academy where she was also the Professor and Head of the Behavioral Sciences and Leadership Department. Previously, Dana served as an Exchange Officer with the Royal Australian Air Force, Assistant Director for Recruiting Research and Analysis for the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Force Management Policy), Deputy Chief of the Personnel Issues Team for the Department of the Air Force (DC/Staff Personnel), Aide and Speech Writer to the Secretary of the Air Force, Squadron Commander for 11th Mission Support Squadron at Bolling AFB, DC and in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. A graduate with distinction of the United States Air Force Academy, Professor Born received her B.S. in Behavioral Sciences (1983), M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Trinity University, TX (1985), M.A. in Research Psychology from University of Melbourne (1991) and Doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Penn State University (1994). She received Penn State’s Alumni Fellow Award in 2012 and an Honorary Doctorate from Simmons College in Humane Administration in 2007. Dr Born sits on the advisory board of the Global Leadership University on a voluntary basis and advises on leadership development programs for the university.
Dr Mark Slomiany
Mark is a Consultant in GfK’s Market Access team in New York.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Geology from Washington and Lee University, a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Medical University of South Carolina, an MBA in Pharmaceutical Management and Finance from Rutgers University, and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University.
Mark comes to GfK with strategic pricing and market access consulting services experience from Wells Fargo Securities, HC Wainwright, Bradley Woods & Co and MPEG LA. He has over 15 years of experience specializing in strategies to identify, capture, and communicate value for indications, products, portfolios, and companies in biomedicine, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry. This includes over two-dozen peer-reviewed publications spanning molecular biology to health economics. His experience includes, but is not limited to, preclinical development, intellectual property analysis, clinical trial design and FDA submission, product design, product value development and messaging, development launch and lifecycle management strategies, asset valuation, pipeline analysis, health economics and regulatory policy research.
Mark has executed project work in a wide range of therapeutic, diagnostic and device areas and products including, but not limited to, oncology, immunology, diabetes, cardiovascular, HIV/AIDS and orphan diseases, as well as regenerative medicine. Dr Slomiany advises on medical research projects and works on internationalization efforts of GLU’s medical programs.
Mr Allan Stonehouse
Mr Al Stonehous is an entrepreneur and retired educator who taught English in 1999 in Mongolia through the English Language Institute together with his wife, Judy Stonehouse. Al has been compassionate in helping Mongolian students to learn English and study in the United States. Through his generous gifts in scholarship funding and mentorship, many Mongolian students were enabled to study abroad and reach their dreams. His straightforward practical knowledge and inspirational mentorship enable GLU to expand its network of international partners especially in the United States. Al lives in Florida and assists GLU in making strategic decisions in establishing academic partnerships in the United States. As an important member of the board of advisors, Al works with the president in making strategic decisions in investment and business strategy.
Michael Hernandez
Michael Hernandez is a long-term partner of GLU since his position as Director of International Education at Park University in the United States. Working together with Michael, GLU managed to send many students to the United States on a full scholarship program. Since then, Michael has been active in international education consulting and recruitment business as an independent consultant. GLU is continually expanding its network of partner universities in the United States with tremendous help and friendship from Michael.
Bobbie Ragsdale
A US Army officer with combat experience in Iraq and Afghanistan, Bobbie has experience with negotiations and complex environments around the world. Hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana, he studied Political Science and Systems Engineering at West Point, graduating in 2007. While in the Army, he has worked in the US Senate, overseen Department of State and USAID teams, and commanded in a variety of environments. In 2016, he was selected to complete his Master in Public Administration at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is a part time consultant with the Congressional Research Institute, and the owner and operator of Ragsdale Real Estate, a residential real estate developing company. He and his family currently reside in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As GLU’s board member, he is focused on developing new partnerships with U.S. universities in the southern states of the United States.
Samuel H. Kim
Samuel H. Kim is the Co-founder and President of the Center for Asia Leadership, a group of international non-profit organizations that addresses public needs and problems in Asia through research, development, training and publication initiatives in the areas of public leadership, entrepreneurship and education in Asia. He currently leads the teaching team for the Asia Leadership Institute, where he teaches on the practice of negotiation, persuasion, perspective leadership, and innovation for adaptive change, and develops contents and programs that help build capacities among emerging young leaders to address and solve the challenges in Asia today. Prior to establishing the Center in Boston and subsequently a regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur in 2014 and 2015 respectively, Mr. Kim worked for 12 years in varying sectors from strategy consulting and social entrepreneurship to international development, politics and government. Mr. Kim currently sits as board in three non-profit organizations. He has published four books which he edited, and is currently in the process of writing three books on topics of Discussion Leadership, Women and Leadership in Asia and the Fundamentals to Keeping Asia Competitive. He holds a MPA degree from Harvard.
Joseph Lin
Mr Lin serves as the Independent Director of Taiwan Programs based in Taipei, Taiwan. Joseph is a graduate of the De Montfort University in the UK with a Masters degree in management science. As a board member, Joseph travels around Taiwan and assists in development of a variety of educational and exchange programs and recently, he has been focused on work study programs with Taiwanese universities. Mr Lin’s background is finance and insurance as he had previously worked in a managerial position at AIG and he is also an active member of Junior Chamber International (JCI) as he served as a local chapter president.
